KAUFMANN, Wolfgang Dietrich - Suddenly, peacefully, and mercifully, in his sleep at Centenary Hospital in Scarborough on March 16, 2012 at the age of 85. Wolfgang, Master Goldsmith from Gerswalde, East Prussia, is loved and will be missed by Anna, his wife and partner of 60 years, his four children and their families. He came to Canada in 1956 and celebrated his 30th birthday when the ship reached Newfoundland. He never looked back. In addition the fabulous jewellery he made, he loved to build things -- from furniture to his crowning achievement, a cottage he built from a reclaimed 1856 post-and-beam farmhouse. He wanted to build one more house, he was always dreaming, but time was not on his side. There will be a celebration of his life on Friday, March 23rd at the Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave. East, Toronto. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:30 p.m. followed by a memorial at 2:30 p.m.
