

Ed was the seventh of ten children born to Alex and Lottie Jarmakowicz in Hammond, Indiana. He was predeceased by Mitchell, Ted, Melanie, Lottie and two infant siblings. He graduated from Bishop Noll High School in 1951 where he was a star athlete, senior class president, All State football player, football captain and President of the Monogram Club. He attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on a football scholarship and graduated in 1956 with a BS in Education. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and was in the ROTC program.
After a short time in the insurance industry he decided to follow his dream of teaching and coaching. He taught and coached at Chattanooga Valley High School from 1957-1969. He taught history and coached girls and boys in football, baseball, basketball and track. During this time he earned his Master’s Degree in Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. In 1969 he moved his family to Florida where he taught and coached at Palm Beach High School and then became an administrator at John I. Leonard H.S. in 1971. He retired on disability in 1990. During this time he was a member of the West Lake Worth Exchange Club and served as its president for several years.
He is survived by his wife Catheryne, siblings Vicki, MaryAnn, and George, children Scott, Edward (Camille), Angela, Mary (Mark), Teresa (Chris) and eight grandchildren. Ed enjoyed traveling, fishing and sports of any kind. He will be remembered for helping to guide boys and girls to be respectful, tenacious and successful adults.
A Memorial Gathering is being held between 5-7 pm followed by a service on December 5th at Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center at 5411 Okeechobee Boulevard in West Palm Beach FL 33417.
