

He is survived by three sons, Bud Lawlor, Michael Lawlor and Patrick Lawlor, his sister Ann Lawlor Scurry and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and longtime friend and companion Janet Angehr.
Jay graduated from George Washington University. He then went on to become a 1st Lieutenant in the Army during the Korean War. He became the Executive Director of the International Eye Foundation. In this position, he travelled the world bringing sight to those in need. His group of opthmologists taught teams of doctors worldwide the corneal transplant procedure.
His later years were in Real Estate and semi-retirement. In West Palm Beach. Jay enjoyed his "retirement" working at Roger Dean Stadium for 16 seasons of baseball - never missing a single game and was honored as such by throwing in the First Pitch in 2004.
Jay had a quick wit and endearing personality. He had many friends and was loved by all who knew him.
Burial services will be with Quattlebaum Funeral Home. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 at 5 - 7 pm and burial at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016 at 12:30 pm. Lane 5.
