Kenneth A. Wagner died suddenly on February 8, 2024, in West Palm Beach, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Cecilia Wagner, and his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Pamela Wagner. Ken is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia (Nelan); daughter, Christine Fox (Ty); son, Kenneth A. Wagner II (Laura); his grandchildren, Cecilia Fox, Rebecca Fox, Olivia Wagner, Kenneth Wagner III, and Emma Wagner; sister, Marian Monahan (Bill); and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
After graduating from Fairfield University (English), he was a Captain in the U.S. Army, Special Forces (Airborne) and served Project DELTA in the Vietnam War. He owned Roxy’s Bar and Grille, and worked tirelessly with his wife to make Roxy’s a special place for the community from 1975-2005 including pioneering the revitalization of downtown West Palm Beach. During that time he was an active youth sports coach and regular Catholic school volunteer. At St. Edward Catholic Church, he served as a lector, sacristan and eucharistic minister. He was also a member of the Special Operations Association, Veterans of Foreign War, American Legion and the Knights of Columbus, Santa Maria Council 4999.
Ken was unapologetic about his love for his country. He was an incredible husband and father and will always be remembered for his devout faith, generosity and love of sports. He was driven by sharing his passion for gourmet cooking, fine wine, classical music and literature with family and friends. Ken will be remembered fondly as a devoted family man and friend as his memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy of kindness, loyalty and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm at Quattlebaum Funeral and Event Center, 6411 Parker Ave, West Palm Beach. A funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, February 17, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Edwards Catholic Church, 144 North County Road, Palm Beach. Interment (all welcome) will be at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 S. State Road 7 Lake Worth, FL 33449, on February 22, at 11:00 am ET.
