Michael and Terry Moore of West Palm Beach entered into the presence of their Lord on Friday, December 27, 2024. They leave behind their sons Michael (Becky) and Patrick (Claudia), and three grandchildren Tori, David, and Reilley. Michael leaves behind his sisters Teena Annin of Davie, Florida and Sharon Olivier of Ocala, Florida. Terry leaves behind her sisters Nancy (Bruce) Hansborough of Palm City, Florida; Connie Griffith of Ft. Pierce, Florida; and Rose (Tommy) Brock of Conyers, Georgia. They also leave behind several nieces and nephews.
Terry was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on February 25, 1951. She moved to Florida in 1959. Terry graduated from Lake Worth High School and went on to earn her nursing degree from Palm Beach State College. She worked as an LPN for 35 years before retiring from St. Mary’s Hospital. Before her retirement, she worked on the pediatric floor where she enjoyed taking care of children. Terry was one of the nurses working to care for children with AIDS during the early stages of the AIDS epidemic in Palm Beach County.
Michael was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on August 27, 1953. Michael worked twenty-five years with Cadillac Uniform Supply Company. After leaving Cadillac, Michael went to work for Palm Beach Atlantic University where he retired after 31 years in March 2023. Michael was involved in local youth sports for over 45 years where he most recently served as the South Florida Commissioner for Babe Ruth Baseball overseeing leagues from Indian River County to Florida City. He enjoyed making sure kids had an opportunity to play baseball in a fun and encouraging environment.
Additionally, Michael and Terry were involved in their church, Haverhill Community Church in West Palm Beach. Michael served as the Chairman of the Deacons, and both Michael and Terry were a major component of the behind the scenes work for church services and events. Terry was involved in the card ministry, ensuring that every member of the church community knew they were loved and appreciated around birthdays and holidays. Both were involved in serving with the CROS Ministries foodbank location at the church, helping to provide food for the less fortunate. Terry also volunteered at the Yesteryear Village in West Palm Beach.
Michael and Terry were loved by many. They impacted the lives of countless people and will be missed dearly.
The Celebration of Life Service for Terry and Michael Moore will be this Saturday, January 11 at 2 PM at Grace Fellowship Church at 8350 Okeechobee Blvd. Doors will open at 12:30. A reception will follow at the Smith Family Cafe at The King's Academy at 8401 Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach FL 33411.
