Rosemarie Cassarino Levack, 76, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on October 11, 2022. Born in Hartford, CT, daughter of the late Paul and Rose Cassarino, she resided on Main Street, South Windsor for 63 years, was a summer resident of North Hampton, NH, and subsequently a resident of West Palm Beach, FL. Rosemarie graduated from South Windsor High School in 1964 and from the University of Hartford in 1993, with honors.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harvey, with whom she shared the joys of life, family, and business. As a young wife and mother, she was instrumental in the success of their construction business, H.W. Levack Equipment Service, from its inception in 1972 until they closed the doors in 2013. She devoted many hours to managing the accounting and organization of their office while raising her two beautiful children: a cherished daughter, Dayna (and husband Don Perry) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and beloved son, Darren (and wife Sophia) of Rancho Santa Fe, CA. The lights of her life were her four grandchildren, Jacob and Alexa, Savannah and Hudson. She is also survived by her sister Sally Sanborn of South Windsor, CT, sister Charlotte Corey (David) of Kingsland, GA, and brother Sal Cassarino (Linda) of Sudbury, MA. She will be missed by her special Godchildren, Cookie Pandiscia, Patty Ann Kasheta, Joseph Corey, and Joseph Tebeccio, as well as many nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom she cherished.
She was first and foremost a mother and devoted her life to her family. Rosemarie was an ever constant, loving presence in her children’s lives while teaching them to honor their potential and make a place for themselves in the world. She established traditions around birthdays, holidays, and vacations that will live on in her family’s hearts and minds.
Her family accompanied her to North Hampton, NH for trips to the beach, where she taught her children and grandchildren the simple joy of jumping the waves and building sandcastles. She found passion and strength through her family. Her beautiful spirit will continue to shine in their hearts and through their smiles always.
Rosemarie volunteered for many school and community projects for her children and then for her grandchildren. She served as a Eucharistic minister and caregiver at Hartford Hospital and later at the Cathedral of St. Ignatius of Loyola in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Rosemarie touched the lives of all those who knew her with her loving and generous spirit. She will be remembered for her ability to easily make friends in a very genuine way with a smile ready for everyone she met. Her capacity for empathy knew no bounds. Those whose lives she touched for a minute or for a lifetime were better for having known her.
Rosemarie was steadfast in her decision to bestow life back through the gift of organ donation; unfortunately she was unable to do so. Bearing her wishes in mind, her family has decided that in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her instead donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial ID 23129826, https://www.stjude.org/ in her name. In this way she can help children and their families experience some of the joys in life she never once took for granted.
Rosemarie will be celebrated Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 5-7pm at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL. Her family will again honor her remarkable life in South Windsor, CT at a later date.
