

Thelma L. Ortega, age 70, of West Palm Beach, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at her home. Thelma was born on December 12, 1955, in Havana, Cuba. Thelma lived a life filled with kindness, joy, and an unwavering faith.
A beacon of “positivity”, Thelma lived with joy, she tackled each day with unimaginable faith and optimism and always knew how to uplift our spirits sharing her bright spirit and infectious laughter wherever she went. Thelma dedicated her life to make the world a better place for those she encountered.
Thelma demonstrated courage throughout her life, she was dedicated to her work and had an impeccable work ethic. She had a heart of gold…she was honest, sincere, with high integrity. She loved her poodle “Baby” immensely.
Her deep faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those she loved. She was known for her compassionate heart and willingness to lend a helping hand, spreading joy through simple acts of kindness.
Thelma’s parents, Dr. Angel Anibal Ortega and Dolores Alvarez de Ortega, and her uncle Dr. Mario Ortega preceded her death, and she is survived by her sister Gloria Ortega Rex, her loving aunt Elizabeth Ortega, her cousin Mario Ortega and other loving cousins too numerous to mention, who will forever cherish her memory and the lessons she imparted about love, hope, and resilience.
A memorial service will be held on Friday January 23, 2026, at Quattlebaum Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association West Palm Beach, FL Chapter.
The light she brought into our lives will forever shine in our hearts.
