

William Charles Schadewald was born Feb 4 1943 in Elizabeth NJ, son of the late William and Mary O’Such Schadewald. Bill entered St Charles College Catonsville MD in 1957 to start his seminary training. He received his BA from St Mary’s College Baltimore MD in 1964. He received his Master’s in Education from Columbia University in 1967 and pursued his PhD in Education at Columbia. Bill began his educational career at St Josephs University in Philadelphia PA. He worked in London UK and traveled throughout Europe for the next year. Bill then taught Special Ed with great kindness for many years in Palm Beach FL schools including working in Belle Glade for ten years. For the remainder of his teaching career, he taught special ed as well as other disciplines, leaving a lasting impact on many of his students. Bill especially enjoyed his years at Polo Park where he made lasting friendships. Bill enjoyed golfing and travel, including trips to Alaska, Australia, UK and a fond River Cruise in Europe before and after retirement. He made travel to extended family a priority and arranged get togethers for he and his sisters after his mother passed away. He never forgot his nieces and nephews at Christmas and special occasions.
He leaves his sisters Mary Addams, Joanne Lilore, Anne (Barry) Altschuler, Helen (Stephen) Urban, and Bernadette (Michael) Macy, as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
