William J. Vitale “Bill” a long time Lake Worth, Florida resident peacefully passed away December 30th, 2020 due to Leukemia. Bill was the son of the late William and Rose Vitale of Wethersfield, CT. He was predeceased by his sister Diane Vitale of Rocky Hill, CT. Bill is survived by his wife Patricia, his daughter Lauren and her husband Zachary Todd, his daughter Kristen, his sister Maria and her husband Eric Johnson of Wethersfield, CT. The most recent addition to the family is his ten month old granddaughter, Grace. He also leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews.
Bill was the proud owner of Vital Printing a commercial printing company, which has been residing in West Palm Beach, Florida for almost forty years. His journey as a printer began at the early age of fourteen with sweeping floors at a local print shop in Connecticut, where he grew up. This later transitioned into him moving to the South Florida area at the age of twenty-one and becoming a successful business owner.
Those who knew him well are familiar with his favorite pastime hobby of spending hours in his garage building gas-powered remote-control cars from scratch. There was no project too big or too small that he wouldn’t tackle like building raised garden boxes with his daughter, Kristen or helping his daughter, Lauren with projects around her home.
Bill spent countless summers in Islamorada, Florida lobstering, fishing, or relaxing at the beach with his wife and daughters. A typical day in the Keys would include waking up to Bill shouting, “To the Hump!” and spending the day at the 409 Hump off Islamorada fishing for Tuna and occasionally eating at Habanos Restaurant afterwards. When Bill wasn’t on the boat, you would catch him downstairs on his patio with family and friends striking up a conversation with anyone who would listen. His laugh could be heard from miles away as he shared stories with everyone. During the winter months, he enjoyed an annual Disney trip with his daughters and his sister Maria’s family where it was ok to have ice cream for breakfast.
Bill lived a life of adventure with various trips he shared with his wife Patti to places such as Las Vegas, Jamaica, Mexico, Canada, Chicago, and New York. Some of his most memorable experiences from these trips included a helicopter ride through the Grand Canyon, waiting an hour and a half for the most delicious deep dish pizza in Chicago, and a fishing excursion in Alaska where they cooked their catch over an open fire.
Above everything else, the proudest moment for him was when he became a grandfather with the birth of his granddaughter, Gracie.
Bill will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. We will miss his laughter, friendship, and what he would always say to his beloved wife Patti “Where’s my Pat?!”
