

Dale graduated from Watertown High School with the class of 1950. He then enlisted in the Air Force at Sampson A.F.B. He trained in armament at Lowry A.F.B. in Denver. He spent nine months in Japan and nine months in Kunsan K-8 Air Base in South Korea with F-84 Thunderjet armament duties. Upon his discharge in May 1955, he attended Alfred Tech and then Erie County Technical School receiving an associate’s degree in applied science. His last formal schooling was at General Motors Institute where he earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. He retired from Ford Motor Company Stamping Plant in 1991 after 27 years of employment. Dale is survived by three daughters, Debra (Robert) Schmidt of Lawrenceville, NJ, Michelle (Timothy) Herrmann of Orchard Park, NY, and Valerie (Donato) Evangelista of Kissimmee, FL. Also survived by one great-grandchild and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Sally Monroe of Plymouth, MI, Richard Jones of Talkeetna, AK, and Nancy Albrecht of Syracuse, NY. Dale was an avid fisherman, hunter, and skier. He was a member of American Legion Post 735 of West Seneca, NY. Flowers gratefully declined. A military interment at the Western New York National Cemetery will occur on a later date to be announced.
