affectionately known as The Queen or Queenie, joined her loved ones in heaven while surrounded by her family on April 16, 2026 at the age of 81.
Norma was born in Buffalo, NY on July 10, 1944 and spent her whole life in the Buffalo area, but frequently traveled to Albany and the Adirondacks to visit her dear friend Mary where they enjoyed a box wine and many adventures together that made for decades of storytelling. Norma also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Florida with her late husband, Bill, where she would read a good book by the pool. In 2000 she took on Walt Disney World with her daughter and grandkids, and excitedly took them to see the ocean for the first time. Her most adventurous trip was in the '70's when she and her late husband, Richard, took their three young children on a road trip around the continental USA for 12 weeks.
Norma loved watching and cheering on the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, and going to the casino. She also enjoyed a nice, quiet day soaking up the sunshine at Chestnut Ridge Park. Norma was known for her love of tea, specifically Tetley British Blend, and would order hot water anywhere she went and tell them, 'I have my own tea.' She would never turn down a dance party to Neil Diamond music, and loved sweet treats, especially cherry pie and sugar cookies. She never missed an episode of Chris Cuomo, and always referred to him as her 'boyfriend'.
Beloved wife of the late William 'My Bill' Daley and the late Richard Lindstrom. Loving mother of Cheryl (Roy Decibus), Dale, and the late Sheila Lindstrom. Loving step mother of Ken (Linda) Lindstrom, Cindy Lindstrom, Denise (Scott Rathbun) Fox, and Kevin (Michelle) Daley. Sister of Holly (James) Weiss, Audrey Ciepiela, and the late Caroll Dommell, Joyce (Chuck) Hoch, and Ray Melson. Devoted best friend of Claire Orlowski and the late Mary Hall. Predeceased by her dear parents Raymond and Dorothy Melson. Will be fondly remembered by many step grand and great grand children, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Norma was the pillar of her family, and will be deeply and dearly missed.
