

July 4, 2023 of Orchard Park, NY. A celebration of Wanell’s life will be held on August 12, 2023 at 11:00 am at Revive Wesleyan Church, 4999 McKinley Pkwy., Hamburg, NY 14075. Wanell is preceded in death by her husband, Amos Paul Kelsey, a daughter, Denise Paulette Weldon (Barry) her brothers Clinton Weber and Kenneth Weber (Sharon) and sister-in-law, Delores Weber. She is survived by her daughter, Linnette Kelsey-Stone (Norbert Golebiewski, Jr.), her son, Andrew Paul Kelsey, her son-in-law, Barry Weldon, her grandson David (Elizabeth) Stone III, her granddaughters Crystal (Daniel Jr.) Geary and Jennifer (Kyle) Elmore; great-grandmother of Reanna Jean Ivy, Gavin Connor Elmore, Emily Miranda (Mark) and Louis Santillo and great-great grandmother of Tabitha Miranda, her nephews Mark (Carol) Weber, David (Mary Sue) and niece, Nancy Hayes (Joe). Following her retirement as a remedial reading teacher with the Frontier Central School District, Wanell taught English as a second language in downtown Buffalo. Wanell and her husband were instrumental in the development of the Hamburg Wesleyan Church (Revive Wesleyan) and were very active in several ministries within the church, including teaching Sunday School, serving on various committees, and developing a support group for Adult Children of Alcoholics. She was involved in international ministries and traveled to India, Russia, and Guatamala, She made new friends wherever she went and maintained those friendships throughout her lifetime.
Wanell was an avid Scrabble player, reader, and tennis player, playing several times a week well into her 80’s. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Buffalo Hospice.
