With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, Alecia Corrine Mondragon, born December 29, 1945.
Alecia was a woman of unwavering faith, deeply devoted to Jesus Christ. Her faith guided her life and shaped the way she loved. She loved fully, selflessly and without condition. She carried a quiet strength and grace that touched everyone around her. Her presence brought comfort, warmth, and peace.
She created more than just a family. She built a legacy of love. Because of Alecia and her husband, Billy Mondragon, our family is deeply connected, always showing up for one another and loving each other relentlessly. The closeness we share is a direct reflection of her heart. Alongside her beloved husband, who preceded her in passing, they built a family rooted in love, faith, and unity.
Alecia had a love language that often came through her cooking. The kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and togetherness. She loved to gather family and feed them well. She always made sure everyone felt at home. She was beautifully complex; spicey and stern when she needed to be, but funny, warm, and incredibly sweet. Her strength shaped her family, and her humor and tenderness made her unforgettable.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Gina Mondragon (Erin Mondragon), Billy Mondragon, Matt Mondragon (Nancy Mondragon), and Christie Mondragon. She left behind six grandkids: Seth Mondragon (Danielle Mondragon), Desiree Mondragon Fox (Colton Fox), Gina Mondragon (Jay Vick), Amanda Mondragon, Matthew Mondragon (Morgan Leatherwood), and Zach Mondragon; seven great grandkids: Mila, Kaio, Jayson, Halley, Alecia, Levi, and Seth Jr – who adore and love her dearly. She put a mark on all our hearts. She is survived by her entire loving Mondragon family.
She shared an especially close and cherished bond with her sister, Josephine Gonzales, whose relationship meant so much to her throughout her life. She also held a deep love for her nieces: Valerie Gonzales and Jodie Gonzales; and her great nephews and nieces: Jess, Bre’Ana, Andreya, Marissa, and Gabriel.
Alecia will be remembered for her beauty, both inside and out, her strong spirit, and the way she made everyone feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find peace in knowing she is now at rest in the presence of the Lord she so faithfully served, and she is now reunited with her beloved husband in heaven.
Her love will always remain with us forever.
Services to honor Alecia will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, 11:00 am at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. A Viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:50 AM. Interment to follow services at Valley View Memorial Park.
