Alvin married Karrie and they lived in West Valley City together for many years.
They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple as a family for all eternity. Alvin served humbly with many callings within the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. He served with the SNAP (Special Needs Activity Program) for 15 years along with Karrie and part of the time with their girls. Alvin was an AMAZING father to Leesa and Karrin.
He liked creating things with spare computer parts, playing games with family and friends, and working on puzzles. He wouldn’t let his colorblindness hold him back from a good puzzle that needs to be finished. He is proceeded in death by his father and mother, Jay and Annie Harvey; brother, Boy Harvey; sister-in-law, Christine Harvey; and nephew Landon Hirschi along with loved friends and family members. He is survived by his wife, Karrie Harvey; daughters, Leesa Harvey and Karrin (Tyler) Gaffney; and grandchildren Matthew, Caroline, and another that he is watching over until they join us on Earth. He is also survived by his siblings: Leah (Paul) Overson, Steve Harvey, Gary (Wendy) Harvey, Ronald (Lori) Harvey, Sharol (Carl) Perkins, Laurie (Paul) Hirschi, Sharrie (Bob) Nelson, DeeRay (Ginna), Wardle, along with nieces and nephews, and a multitude of loved ones.
He is so loved by anyone who met him, he will be missed, especially at work where he was known as the candy man. At his desk for work he would make sure there were enough sweets to share and made sure that anyone who walked by would get a piece or bag of candy to help brighten their day.
We would like to thank our Ward family and Alvin’s work family and Janeice, who were TEAM ALVIN all the way! Thanks to our loving family, friends, and everyone who supported us in the good times and hard times, ready to help, no matter the hour of the day.
Thank you, Dr. April Jones and Dr. Andrew Fedoravicius, who cared for Alvin and helped him to transition to the University of Utah on his liver journey. Thank you to the amazing care teams and friends we got to know as a family at the University of Utah! Thank you to the University of Utah liver transplant team, the A50 staff and team, the kidney team, The ICU teams, the ER department, the dialysis team, the liver clinic and staff, Brooke and Katie (our coordinators and staff) and the many other care givers and friends!
