Barbara Jean Banks

Barbara Jean (Liden) Banks was born February 12, 1948 to Evelyn and Luther Liden. Barbara lost her year-long fight with cancer in her West Valley City, Utah home on Saturday, September 11, 2010. She is survived by her three daughters, Lara (Banks) Akins, Krista Banks, and Shawna (Banks) Cunningham, five grandchildren, and two siblings; Marcia (Liden) Jasper and Melvin Liden.

Barbara was an accomplished slalom/down-hill skier preferring Mammoth Mountain in Southern California as her home away from home.

Along with her many musical talents of playing the violin, piano, and accordion, her musical passion later in life led her to the harp; playing many performances for multiple audiences.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family would prefer donations be made to KPBS, NBTS (National Brain Tumor Society) www.braintumor.org or Mammoth Mountain's Disabled Skiers Association, www.disabledsportseasternsierra.org in her memory.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Valley View Memorial Park; 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, UT.
