Heaven gained a beautiful angel early Saturday morning, February 5, 2022. Betty Jean Winrow left this earthly world to join her sweetheart Bill and many other loved ones. Betty was born June 4,1927 to Jesse McPherron and Pearl Sutton McPherron. She was the oldest of four children. Betty passed away from causes incident to age. She was 94 years old.
Betty grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High in 1945. On October 21,1945 she married the love of her life, William H. Winrow, fondly remembered as her “Billy.” They were happily married for sixty eight years before Bill died from a fall at home in October of 2013. Betty was the mother to four children: Joe, Debbie, Shauna, and Stan.
As a young girl, Betty loved to roller skate and she loved the thrill of riding roller coasters. She was an avid reader of books and newspapers and kept an immaculately clean home. She was lovingly referred to as “Mrs. Clean” by her family. Betty was “information central” where her family was concerned. She kept up on the details of everyone close to her in her life. Her family, friends, and children of her friends were always under her watchful eye. Betty enjoyed going to lunch with her friends and looked forward to her “club” nights playing cards with her longtime friends.
You can’t mention Betty’s name without saying Bill right after it. Those two were inseparable! Betty loved going for daily coffee with Bill at their favorite little coffee shop in the mall. They would sit and visit with all of the mall workers and watch the people go by. Betty and Bill also enjoyed spending the winter months in Yuma, Arizona where they met many wonderful friends and acquaintances.
Since Bill’s passing in 2013, Betty has been lost. Bill was her best friend and lifelong companion. She never got over the fact that Bill had passed, leaving her behind. What a joyful reunion must have taken place when Betty finally joined with Bill. Betty is now happily reunited with her sweetheart, along with her parents, two sons, Joe and Stan, her sister Barbara, brother Jerry, and numerous other friends and relatives.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Jay) Mark, and Shauna Winrow. She leaves behind her grandchildren Chelsea, Ciel, Chaylee, Chaston, Jeramey, Zach and Alex, along with fifteen great grandchildren.
A Graveside service will be held on Friday, Feb 11, 2022 at 11 am at Valley View Memorial Park. Interment will take place following the service.
