Carl Brockbank Fuller was born December 17, 1920 in Snowville, Utah. When he was a young boy, the family moved to Smithfield, Utah. There he attended North Cache High, played on the basketball team and was the senior class president.
During World War II, he served his country as a Marine in the Pacific Theater, primarily as a cook (he learned to cook in large quantities!). He was discharged December 7, 1945 and returned home to marry his childhood sweetheart, Edyth Ruth Larkin, February 5th, 1946 in the Logan, Utah, Temple. (Edyth thought Valentine’s Day would be a great day to get married, but Carl pushed for a little bit sooner.)
Soon after being married, they moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, where Carl began learning
his life's occupation as an upholsterer. There they had two sons born, Russell and Brent. After leaving Twin Falls, they spent a short while in Logan and then moved to Salt Lake City where Carl found work with Imperial Upholstery. Eventually, Carl opened his own shop, Granger Upholstery, and enjoyed being its owner/operator for about 25 years.
In 1953, Carl and Edyth’s daughter, Pam, was born and they built their forever home in Granger. Carl lived in that home to the very end of his life.
Carl’s retirement gave him more time to cultivate his love of gardening. He quickly got to work tearing out grass and putting in all kinds of fun plants (Edyth just rolled her eyes.)
Carl served faithfully as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in many capacities, including as a bishop and High Councilman, and it blessed his life. In 1981, Carl and Edyth became temple workers in the newly opened Jordan River Temple. They served a short temple mission in the Atlanta Georgia Temple, and then returned home to resume their service in the Jordan River Temple, where Carl served until the temple closed for major renovations in 2016.
Carl celebrated his 103rd birthday Dec 17, 2023 before returning home to his Heavenly Father on January 4, 2024. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Amos Levi Fuller and Agnes Park Brockbank Fuller; his siblings Varden Fuller, Marian Fuller, Edith Fuller Reese, and Jean Fuller Jessop; one great grandchild and his wife, Edyth Ruth Larkin Fuller. He is survived by his three children, Carl Russell (Mary) Fuller Brent Lee (Becky) Fuller Pamela Fuller (Ron) Smith; as well as seventeen grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He will be missed by all who knew him, but we feel comfort knowing he enjoyed greeting all those who preceded him in death. Special thanks to all who cared for him in his final months on earth including family, friends and all the Enhabit Hospice care givers.
