June 2, 1958 – July 8, 2025
Catherine Jeannine Kendall passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in the early hours of July 8, 2025, in Murray, Utah, at the age of 67.
Born on June 2, 1958, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Cathy spent her life rooted in love, faith, and service. On September 1, 1979, she married the love of her life, Ronald Kendall. On October 26, 1980, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—a date they chose intentionally to honor Ron’s parents by matching their wedding anniversary. That covenant shaped their enduring love and devotion throughout their life together.
Cathy was a faithful member of the Church and served in the Relief Society and Young Women’s programs, blessing the lives of many through her compassion, wisdom, and quiet strength. She especially enjoyed serving alongside the other women in her ward callings, forming lasting friendships and finding joy in working together to support others.
She was a longtime resident of Taylorsville, Utah, where she built a life centered on faith and family. Cathy found joy in creativity and caring for others. She loved scrapbooking and creating handmade dance costumes for a neighborhood dance studio. She also embraced her role as a proud “soccer mom,” cheerfully chauffeuring her children to countless practices and games, always supporting them with love and enthusiasm.
She worked for several years as an office manager for a cabinet company, where she skillfully balanced books, answered phones, and supported customers with warmth and professionalism. In September 2005, she began experiencing severe health and medical challenges that significantly affected her mobility and speech. Even in the face of these trials, Cathy continued to show remarkable grace, strength, and love for her family.
Later in life, she enjoyed simple pleasures—watching the Game Show Network and spending time with her in-home caregivers playing cards and Yahtzee. These moments brought comfort, laughter, and connection that reflected her enduring spirit.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Ron Kendall; her son, David Kendall; her daughter, Staci Fackrell (Dustin); her grandchildren: Kayson, Jace, Levi, Beau, Crue, and Briar; and her siblings, Terri Pearson (Michael) and Todd Dymock. She is also survived by her faithful lap dog, Dodger, who rarely left her side.
The Kendall family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all of Cathy’s in-home caregivers—too many to name individually—who became like extended family through their loving care, companionship, and kindness.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and remembered for her gentle spirit, resilience, and the love she so freely gave. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Westwood Heights Ward Church building, located at 3976 Dimrall Dr, Kearns, UT 84129. Viewings will be held on Friday, July 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Valley View Funeral Home, located at 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City, UT 84120, and again on Saturday, July 19, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service.
