Colene Timothy Hancock

She was born July 24, 1930, in Roosevelt, Utah to Presley Timothy and Clara Elverda Olsen. She married Byron Dwane Hancock August 20, 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, Primary Teacher, and participated in the Relief Society for many years. She was very interested in genealogy and went to Wales to meet some of her ancestors. She worked with her husband to build an auto body and paint business by running errands, paying bills and collecting payments. She also worked at the Salt Lake Church Cannery for about 8 years as a manager.

She is survived by her ten children, Lee K. (Diane Lee Mitchell), Don Timothy, John Alan, Scott Dwane (Laurie Gail Snelson), Janet (Scott Frederick Eubanks), Presley Dale (Cheri Gould), Byron Dennis, Teri, Aaron Dee and David Wayne. They have 26 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She has five surviving siblings, Clara Kay (John “Jack” Burgess), Charles Richard (Susan Alexander), Connie Mae Rollins, Linda Iorg, and LeAnn Walters. She is preceded in death by her husband Byron Dwane Hancock, parents Presley Timothy and Clara Elverda Olsen, her brothers Howard Wayne, Presley Val and Lyle Dennis, and grandchild Porter James Judd.

The viewing is at 10 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m. and will be held on August 21, 2020, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Heritage Ward located at 4634 West Harman Drive (3700 South) located on the north side of Jackling Elementary School. Interment will be held at the Valley View Memorial Park (cemetery) located at 4400 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah 84120.
