Taylorsville, UT - David Eugene Hales was born on March 1, 1936 in Spanish Fork, Utah. He passed away surrounded by family at his home on May 19, 2016. He served the Army Reserves for 4 years, then served the Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanics H Third Class, 12th Naval District in San Diego, CA. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, leather work, reading and spending time with his wife. Married to Erma Duncan in 1956.
Preceded in death by his parents Mark Stoddard Hales and Cleo Vera Smith; brother, Mark Dean. Survived by his wife Erma May Duncan Hales; Children, Kelly (Vicky) Hales, Joey Hales and Tammy (Jan Paul) Wilson-Carranza, as well as 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
We thank the wonderful people whom loved and cared for Dave by the staff at George E. Wahlen Veterans Home and Superior Homecare/Hospice - especially Carlos and Clint.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 S., West Valley City from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 11:00am with a viewing one hour prior. Interment to follow.
