Gerald K Potter was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Lewis and Viola Potter.
He was privileged to have four brothers and one sister. He was full of life and fun. He married Barbara Angell on August, 13, 1949. After her death, he married Janice Powell on December 21, 1990.
Gerald worked at Kennecott Copper Smelter for 35 years as a field machinist. He and his wife Janice enjoyed many trips in their motor home. He is loved and will be missed greatly.
Gerald is survived by his children, Sherrie (Lorin) Wright, Tim (Marty) Potter, his sister Karen Marsh and by his 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and Steven and Judy Sleander.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Mortuary, 4331 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the Service. Family is invited to a luncheon following the service at the LDS church, 3610 South 8400 West, Magna Utah.
