

He graduated from Granite High School, class of 1948. He studied at the University of Utah for a few years, before joining the Army in 1951 to serve his country. He married June Ruth Bibee in 1951 before joining the Army. They divorced and she passed away in 1982.
He retired from the Post Office after 32 years, 3 months and 7 days, where he was an auditor and then became the first postmaster of West Valley City after it was incorporated in 1980.
He met his wife Nancy at work and they were married on January 18, 1970. Glenn and Nancy have a blended family of 10 children, 7 boys, and 3 girls.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hunter 11th Ward, he had a very strong testimony of the truthfulness of the church.
An avid sportsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his two older brothers. He was also an avid gardener who took great pride in his flower gardens. He was awarded the Clean & Beautiful Award, in 2011, and again in 2016, by West Valley City, for his immaculate gardens and yard.
When Glenn sold the family property, the city named a street after the family. The street is named "Newsome Park Lane" the address is 3395 South 300 East. He was a dedicated and selfless provider for his families and we will all miss him very much.
Surviving are his wife Nancy, four sons: Shawn, Terry, Kevin, and Ladd, three daughters: Tammy, Janet, and Lorene, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, three older brothers: Richard, Verne, and Lynn, three sons: Glenn, Jeff, and George, and 2 grandchildren: Kyle, and Catrina.
The family would like to thank the staff of Valeo Home Health and Hospice and his caretakers Angie, Kylee, and Sarah.
Graveside Services, Monday, 1:00 pm, January 11, 2021, at Valley View Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City. Visitors may call 11:45 am to 12:45 pm prior to the graveside service.
