Herbert C Johnson

JOHNSON, HERBERT C. passed away peacefully in Ogden, Utah on August 31, 2021 at the age of 86. Herb was born in Middletown, Connecticut, on April 4, 1935. He will join his wife, Jean Sandell Johnson, and two of his five children: Barbara (Johnson) Speck, and Peter Johnson, who predeceased him, with the Lord. Herb is survived by Beverlee Johnson Basile (Joseph) of Lakeland, FL; Alan (Tamara) Johnson of Oceanside, CA; and Paul (Kristine) Johnson of Ogden, UT. His 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren will greatly miss him and his stories. Herb and Jean were married in Colchester, CT, on March 20, 1957; they were married for 59 years until Jean passed away in 2016. They raised their family in Portland, CT, and lived there until they retired and headed west. He spent most of his entrepreneurial career with Johnson Subaru in Cobalt, CT. He grew up in Cromwell, CT, and graduated from Middletown High School. He spent most of his life in Cromwell/Portland, and loved sharing stories of his childhood antics and his love of playing baseball. After leaving CT, he remained close with numerous friends from his youth and adult years. After retiring to Las Vegas, he was very involved in the Shadows Hills Baptist Church and loved the honor of reading scripture to his Sunday School class on a weekly basis. He was very sociable and an easy person to befriend. He will be dearly missed.

His memorial service will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Shadow Hills Baptist Church in Las Vegas.
