James "Jim" Wayne McWhorter

James “Jim” W. McWhorter passed away on March 27, 2022. Jim was born on June 28, 1951. He was born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT. He had fond memories of spending time with his family. He graduated from South High.

Jim loved spending time with his friends and family. He could easily start a conversation with a stranger and loved talking to people. He had a huge heart and always wanted to make you laugh. He loved listening to music and singing. His favorite pastime was spending time with his Mom watching the Jazz Basketball and Utes Football Games. He enjoyed being outdoors and watching movies. He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and grandfather.

He leaves behind his mother Thelma L. McWhorter, his sisters Connie Schippers, Debbie (Ron) Lott, Darlene (Brett) Sharp, Mary Seegmiller, Melanie Kalis and Julie Bertola. His children Jamie (Travis) Donio, Jen (John) Bronson and James McWhorter Jr. His Grandchildren Jacelyn and Jaxon Bronson.

He is preceded in death by his father Wendell F. McWhorter, step-mother Helen McWhorter and brother Charlie McWhorter.

A viewing will be held Saturday April 2, 2022 at 1:00 pm, with services to follow at 2:00 pm. All services in memory of Jim will be held at Valley View Memorial Park & Funeral Home (4335 West 4100 South). Interment will be at the Valley View Memorial Park Lilac Garden.
