It was after 22 years of fighting addiction and well on the road to recovery, due to a serious illness, that Janet passed away on October 8, 2025. She was born on December 25, 1982 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harold Jeffrey Russell and Susan Joyce Christensen. She grew up in West Jordan, Utah and lived in the same home for the first 19 years of her life. Growing up, she graduated from West Jordan High School. She also studied at Salt Lake Community College for about 1 year and then later at Montana State University.
During her formative years she became a great missionary and was helpful in the conversion process of a dear neighbor and lifelong friend, Paul Winfrey, and although she was 8 years old, he in his late 50’s, her persistence helped Paul, be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She also was active in many youth activities in the young women’s program of the Church. She grew up loving dance and made many friends everywhere she went.
On July 1, 2004. She married Paul Henderson of Sandy, Utah. They were married in the Bountiful temple. During their marriage they lived in Bozeman, Montana and they returned to West Valley, Utah. After several years and a divorce, she married on October 3, 2015, Alan Moore. It was during this marriage she and Alan were blessed, with the birth of her only child, a son, Adam Geoffrey Moore. She loves him very much. He truly is, from the depth of her soul, the light of her life. Shortly after the birth of Adam and another divorce she married Scott Anthony. She remained married until her passing.
Janet loved cats and for most of her life she had one. She was a great softball player, loved dancing, loved music, and movies. She also enjoyed coloring and quilting. She also loved being with her sisters – especially her sister Shelley. They were so close in age it was natural for them to become so close. They are truly in the real sense of the words “soul mates.” She also was fun to be with and loved family games. Whenever able, she was quick to give. She loved young children and served as a primary teacher as well as a relief society teach in the church. She also loved scrapbooking and keeping records. She was a great note taker. She kept many journals and records. She had the knack of finding wonderful jobs and had many experiences in employment and developed a great resume. She tried very hard to be thoughtful of others.
Wherever she lived she always tried to connect with her Bishop and wanted to serve and help others. She loved the gospel and always wanted to be involved. She has a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
