

Jeff was born on December 16, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Gloria Dawn Cook Hansen and Melvin Albert Hansen. Jeff was raised in Murray and graduated from Murray High as part of the Class of ’78. He was a member of the swim team, was an avid water-skier and loved to be on the water. He developed his love for motorcycles at an early age and spent time riding and working on them. Jeff was a talented heavy equipment mechanic by trade and could fix anything around the house. Jeff was known more for his love of camping, fishing, and dirt biking, which he did well into his final years. He was a gifted artist and loved painting and drawing portraits, nature, and wildlife. Jeff had a big heart and loved his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Staci Hansen (4) and his mother, Gloria Dawn Cook, his niece Keresten Marie Hansen, and by his grandparents. He leaves behind his son, Nicholas (Kari) Hansen, along with their three children, Kayden, Henry and Abigail, the mother of his two children, Annette Rae Bateman, his father, Melvin Hansen, and his two siblings, Deborah Hansen (Deena) and Boyd Hansen (Vickie), his nieces Courtney Hansen and Aliza Hancock.
A funeral service will be held on August 16th,2024 at 11:00 AM at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley. We invite those who knew him to join us in remembering and honoring his life. Jeff’s family and friends have many memories of Jeff throughout his life, some happy, some funny, and some sad. Jeffrey will be missed by those who knew him, and we hope to find peace as we say our final goodbyes.
