JoAnn Powell

She was born on March 2, 1947, to Samuel C. & Arlene Powell. Our beloved mother and grandmother had a kind heart. She led a life of compassion, empathy and was kind to everyone that she met. Her son Robbie is diagnosed with Downs Syndrome and Joann dedicated a good amount of her time helping him achieve his goals and always loving him. Joann worked at Mervyns for 25 years before it went out of business. She then spent a few years working at Sportsman’s Warehouse before retiring. She was a dog lover. Joann was an inspiring person and had a wonderful heart and soul. She was an open-minded and down to earth woman.

Joann is survived by her sons; Gary Powell (Lisa) and Robert Karren, her daughter; Kathy Cooper (Chyloe), and her grandchildren; Amber Stone, and Logan Cooper, and her brother; Sam Powell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Arlene Powell, her sisters, Nancy Isackson and Peggy (Powell) Howard.

Graveside services will be held on October 2, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 W. 4100 S. West Valley City, UT.

A wonderful person to meet and touched the lives of many. Thank you for everything you have done for those around you. A daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed dearly, and may she Rest in Peace. We love you.
