Joye Trottier Blake was reunited with her sweetheart in heaven on February 18, 2025, due to complications from a brain aneurysm she suffered on February 10. Many of her loved ones came far and wide to surround her with love during this time. Her passing has left a deep void, but those dear to her take comfort in knowing she has returned back into the arms of her love, Gilbert, whom she has missed so deeply.
She was born December 17, 1954, to Adell and Wallace Trottier in Vernal, UT. She later married Gilbert Easton Blake in the Salt Lake Temple on June 5, 1975, and began their adventure-filled life together. They were blessed with six children and a thriving business, and together they traveled the world. In 2009 they enjoyed serving an LDS mission to Detroit, MI.
Joye had such a fun personality. She loved music and loved to play it loud, especially while driving with the top down in her convertible. She loved chocolate, trying every new candy bar that came out and had stashes of chocolate in her purse and in several places around the house. She loved to read and was never without her knitting needles, making washcloths or baby blankets when her grandchildren were young. Joye had a real gift for painting and many of her beautiful paintings adorn the walls of their home.
Joye is survived by her children Kris Blake, Xela (Kuco) Andrade, Kamaron (Carly) Blake, Joseph (Gina) Blake, Alex (Valeri) Blake, Andrew (Raevan) Blake, 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Jayne Clayton, and brothers Jay (Becky) and Tracy (Tammy) Trottier.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a viewing held Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 9-11am funeral services will follow at 11:30am. All services will be held at the Valley View Funeral Home 4335 W 4100 S. West Valley City, Ut 84119.
