She was born September 28, 1928 at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, California. She was the daughter of Axel Ingvold Widsteen and Beulah Lee McHale. June married William Winkler Robertson on April 25, 1947 in Palo Alto, California and they were sealed for time and all eternity shortly thereafter in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. June was preceded in death by her parents, husband William Winkler Robertson, daughter Elaine Lee Robertson House, siblings John Austin Widsteen, and Evelyn Widsteen Arceneaux, and great grandchildren Isaiah Joseph Vandenhazel and Scott Matthew Hart. June is survived by her children Joyce (Rick) Hart, Lisa (Tony) Van Boekel, and Steven (Lupe) Robertson, 14 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
June was a caring and nurturing person who was devoted to her family and had an unwavering faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. “Gramma June” loved her family and cherished personal connections. Gramma made such an effort to support her family and was actively involved in their lives. She loved to be invited to any family event or host family gatherings in her home. Gramma spent lots of preparation hours making the perfect dinner which had to be just right. She is also known for her chocolate chip cookies, which she would make by the dozens.
Gramma June was always working on some sort of project. Sewing was her passion which she learned from her mother. She would sew clothes for her daughters, bathing suits for her grandchildren, and likely every member of the family has a quilt hand made by Gramma June. Grandma loved to create the cutest designs for baby quilts and completed every stitch with love. Gramma loved to read, play games, do puzzles, and go to museums. Gramma loved to travel and traveled all over the world, something she enjoyed with Grandpa Bill before he passed away. Gramma was never short on stories about all the places she visited and people she met over the years, both near and far. Gramma loved to plan trips. She loved cruises, visiting her beloved California, a church history destination, or attending sporting or other events for grandchildren. If there was talk of an adventure she was all in! She has been a loving influence for us all and left us with wonderful memories. Gramma June was the perfect example of a grandmother and will be forever in our hearts.
