I have known Kent since I was 17 years old. We met at S.L.C. Parks Department, I worked there on my summer break from high school. We instantly became friends, getting together outside of work. He came to our family Christmas party at my mothers several times as well as went and visited my parents after I had moved out. 
   I have not seen him in close to 20 years , but  we have kept in touch the entire time. I finally made it over to his home when i did not receive a reply from my texts which was unusual, or an answer from calling his cell and home number, but there was no answer at his home either. A couple days ago I  reached out to his daughter and then heard the news of his passing. I was upset to say the least; for one because I hadn't been to see him and now it was too late and that's on me and two, I was not notified by the family so I was unable to even attend his services and say my goodbyes. 
   Kent was a great guy, and I will miss him dearly and forever regret my procrastination. Rest in peace my long lost brother.

Kent loved to joke around with family and friends. My father had 5 biological children.
 Myself being the youngest and only one he primarily raised. As a child I recall him playing pranks on me such as ice cubes on my head. At stop lights he would pretend the car was a rocket and make all kinds of noise while shaking the car. He loved to read and learn! As a young child he would share stories of hunting with my brothers.  He had many stories, a lot of life lessons. Alot of heartaches, and so much love. He would more often than not talk about living with his grandparents, the Clarks. He talked about the love his grandfather had for him and the lessons he learned farming the land in bountiful. Most often he was misunderstood but continued to live his life. He found community with riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He LOVED his bike and offered rides to any and all! Often sharing he has no worries when riding. This truly was his favorite thing to do. He loved to meet new friends and have a good time. Often traveling to visit with good friends. He was stubborn as they come. One could say stubborn to a fault; it must run in the Bangerter family. Kent was never afraid to stand his ground. I believe this is because of his experiences with being deaf. He often dealt with rejection but showed resilience and self-advocacy, despite little to no support system. Often referring to himself as the "black sheep" in his family, I believe with my whole heart that due to his personal struggles,  he took great pride in raising me. He shared his experiences as a single father with everyone he met. often mentoring others who struggled with being “outcasts.” Over the last week, so many people have reached out to me, asking about my father and sharing positive thoughts.  Undoubtedly, I was the closest person to my father for so many years. He loved me and my children fiercely, for that we will always remember him.

I have known Kent most of my life!  He was my husband's best man at our wedding.  We visited him often when we would be in Utah.   My kids liked him too, and remember him stopping by on his motorcycle.  He loved to ride it!  I miss him already!   He was a kind, loving, man.
