LaRell S. Barney

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished brother on November 18, 2025. Deeply mourned by his brother, Kerry G. Barney and sister, Jill B. Greenwood (Mike) along with many nieces and nephews.

LaRell S. Barney, 65, passed away on November 18, 2025, in West Valley City, Utah. Born on February 13, 1960, in Panguitch, Utah, LaRell lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep devotion to family and friends, and a warm sense of humor that touched those around him.

LaRell grew up in Utah and graduated from Tooele High School before continuing his education at Snow College. He married his sweetheart, Shelley Muir on June 4, 1982. They loved to travel with Hawaii being their favorite place. He went on to build a career in the construction industry and later served many years as a maintenance supervisor. His work ethic and dedication were evident throughout his life.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, LaRell found strength and community in his faith. Those who knew him remember his gentle demeanor and the subtle wit that often brought smiles to those around him.

LaRell shared a deep bond with his beloved wife, Shelley. Her passing left a profound void in his life, and he missed her dearly every day thereafter. He also had a special place in his heart for animals—especially the many dogs he loved and cherished over the years.

He was a devoted son, brother, and uncle—roles he embraced with pride and unwavering loyalty. His presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
