She was born in Mount Pleasant Utah August 19th 1929 to Frank and Ellen Roberts. She was seventh of eight children and grew up in Mount Pleasant and Salt Lake City. She married Don Cartwright September 3rd 1948 and was the devoted mother of six children. She loved to spend time with her family, by attending grandchildren or great-grandchildren’s events, having big family camping trips, and traveling with her Sisters or children. She was dedicated to sending birthday cards to all her 39 grandchildren and 86 great-grandchildren. She loved her family.
She worked at Lynn Wilson and then for 10 years at ZCMI. She retired from ZCMI to serve a mission with her husband to the Harrisburg Pennsylvania mission from 1987 to 1988.
Lillian was passionate about family history and has been involved with the Anders Christensen family reunions for years and became the historian from 1982 until a few years ago. She served in many callings during her church service, but often talked about her time serving in the Relief Society. She and Don served in a weekly Temple sealing group for more than 20 years.
Lillian is survived by her husband Don, her children Lana, Kathlene (Jon), Valarie, David (Maria), Beverly (Don), and Carol (Ray), her two sisters June and Louise. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Douglas, LaVon, and Enos, her sisters Frances and Hilda, and grandson Brett.
A viewing will be held Friday August 24th from 6 pm to 8 pm at Valley View Funeral Home located at 4335 W 4100 S West Valley. The funeral service will be held on Saturday August 25th at 11am at the LDS Church located at 3737 S 5600 W West Valley (an additional viewing will be from 9:30 am to 10:30 am prior to the funeral).
