Louis Elaine Melvin Heath

1950 ~ 2014

Louis “Lou” Elaine Melvin Heath, age 63, passed away September 14, 2014 at 8:32 am, peacefully at home with her family in West Valley City, UT. Lou was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer February 28, 2014. She was born November 25, 1950 in Jacksonville, FL to Marcus Leo Melvin and Rose P. Melvin. She attended Cyprus High School and Salt Lake Community College. She married Steve Heath on December 3, 1969, later divorced. She was a member of the LDS Church.

Lou had a great family who loved her and supported her all of her life. She was raised in Florida and moved to Utah with her family in 1963. She loved to sew and every year she made P.J.’s for everyone she loved. Lou found her way back to her religion and went through the Salt Lake Temple. She worked for the Department of Corrections/State of Utah for 17 years where she made many friends she loved. Lou was always there with love and support for her family. She helped every one of her sisters with their children, for which they are thankful.

She is survived by her children: Brandy Heath Korzep (Dave), Marcus Charles Melvin, siblings: Christine Parsons (Glenn), Henri E. Caldwell, E. Marlene Llewelyn, Charles D. Melvin, Howard P. Arrington, 6 grandchildren: Lina Rose Candelaria , Xavier Ray Candelaria , Sydney Lynn Korzep, Rachael D. Korzep, David A. Korzep lll and Tavian Overall. Preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be Friday September 19, 2014 at 11 am at the Orchard Ward, 1533 N. 1075 W., Farmington, UT. Viewings will be Thursday from 6-8 pm at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 S., West Valley City, UT and Friday one hour prior to services at the church.
