Lynda was born July 12, 1944 at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Harry Brown White and Iona Hughes. In 1962 she graduated from Granger High School. She married Dennis George Hopes on September 2, 1966 in Elko, Nevada and they raised four children together.
While her children were young, Lynda was a stay-at-home mother and a homemaker. She occasionally took a part-time job around Christmas to give her kids the best Christmases. Lynda was always very involved in her children’s lives by being a room mother at school, being involved in Boy Scouts for 15 years with her sons, Girl Scouts for 4 years and primary for 10 years. Later, Lynda went to work for Brashers Auto Auction for a few years and then went on to work for Work Activity Center (WAC) for 10 years. Here, she worked with mentally handicapped adults and she loved them all. After her husband Dennis passed away, she went to work for American Land and Leisure managing campgrounds in Utah’s beautiful mountains. Here, Lynda was in her true element working in the great outdoors and meeting people from all over the United States. In addition to camping, Lynda enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting and she loved, loved, LOVED to talk. To know Lynda was to love her.
Lynda is survived by her children; son Denny (Cammy), daughter Lisa, son Daniel(Erika), daughter Lynette, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dennis, sister Kaye, and daughter Cathy.
Funeral services with be on December 6, 2019 at the LDS church on 4251 S. 4800 W. in West Valley City, Utah. A viewing with be from 10:00-10:45 am followed by a service at 11:00 am. A grave dedication will be at Valley View Memorial Park 4400 W. 4100 S. at 12:30.
