

Born on April 22, 1933, in Emery, Utah, to Clifford and Melva Mortensen, Marlon lived a life filled with love for her family. On October 10, 1952, she married her sweetheart, Richard T. Peterson. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 50 years of marriage before his passing.
Marlon’s legacy lives on through her three daughters: Carol (Stephen) Platt, Karen (Blaine) Wallgren, and Stacy Debban. She was the proud matriarch of 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
She has been reunited in death with her husband, Richard; her parents; her four brothers and one sister; her son, Richard L. Peterson; her son-in-law, Stephen Platt; her granddaughter, Mindy Wallgren; and her great-granddaughter, Hazel Debban.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Canyon Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care during Marlon's final months. A very special thanks to Juana, Renee, Carolee, Jeri, Elizabeth, and Kalei for making her last days so much brighter.

Services to honor Marlon will be held on May 5, 2026, at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. A viewing will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at 1:30 PM.
