

Myron Lee Jackson of West Valley City, Utah died of natural causes Saturday, August 9, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born February 6, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Bessie Carol Phillips and Henry George Jackson.
Myron married Carol Joy Bland on July 17, 1951. He is survived by his beloved daughter Debra Martin and her husband Roger, grandchildren Shanda Maple, Kristy Maple, Tracie Yagi, Tami (Chad) Holladay and Jon Martin. Myron is also survived by his sister Betty (Ron) Vega, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Myron was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carol, his mother, father and his brother Carl (Carole).
Myron dedicated 26 1/2 years of his life to the United States Air Force, where he traveled the world with Carol and Debra. He retired at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Myron began a second career in Salt Lake City with American Linen (Alsco), retiring again after 25 years. Following in the footsteps of his wife, he became active in the World Clown Association where he served as President (1997) and was honored as “Clown of the Year". After stepping down from that roll he began traveling and spending more time with his family. Myron loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and golf. He was an avid Utah Jazz fan and loved playing games with his family.
Today the world lost a great father, grandfather and friend to many. He told us all many stories of his life. Tales we each will remember with a smile when we think of this special man. Don't be sad at the loss of Myron, remember the joy he brought, the love he gave, and the meaning he held in your life.
Services will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a viewing Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
