Nancy J. Willis passed from this life on Friday, December 30, 2022. Nancy was born July 31, 1933, to Charles and Irene Jones in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the oldest of three children, Jenny Rae, a sister, who died at a young age and younger brother, Bill. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Nancy attended Granite High School and enjoyed many friendships during that time. Over the years, she worked at a variety of interesting jobs from candy maker, bar maid, a salesclerk at The Paris and her most recent as a lunch manager at Granite School District. In all of her jobs, the thing she most enjoyed were the friendships she made with others and learning about others, especially students as they ate lunch daily.
Nancy had two sons, Michael Willis and Craig Kluge when she met and married Duane Willis. Together they blended their families and so Dennis, Annette and Pauline Willis were added to the crew.
Duane and Nancy spent years raising children together enjoying many vacations to Kanab, Yellowstone, California and numerous camping trips. Together they were active in bowling leagues and many activities with the American Legion. The Legion enriched their lives in many ways with friends, Boys' State, baseball, parades and travels. Those times were very treasured by Nancy.
Nancy is survived by sons Michael (Elaine) Willis, Dennis (Dorothy) Willis, Craig (LuAnn) Kluge, Annette Willis and Pauline Derbridge along with grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her spouse which we are sure would have been a rowdy, yet jubilant reunion upon her arrival.
Services will be held at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home at 4335 West 4100 South in West Valley City, Utah on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 12PM. Interment will follow after service.
