July 29, 1977 – September 17, 2025
Nathan Lynn Wittke was born on July 29, 1977, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Victor Wittke and Debra Bowles. At the age of 48, Nathan passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, hand in hand with his high school sweetheart and soulmate of 31 years, Misty Jo Wittke.
Nathan was larger than life — known for his quick wit, infectious laugh, and unforgettable sense of humor. He had a remarkable gift for lighting up any room and bringing joy to those around him. Above all, his greatest passion was his family, closely followed by his lifelong devotion to the Miami Dolphins.
A skilled craftsman, Nathan found fulfillment in working with his hands and in the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle. Whether he was building homes and businesses or simply enjoying Legos and puzzles, he poured care and creativity into everything he touched. He took immense pride in being a husband and father, cherishing every moment with his wife, Misty, and their three children: Edward, Shaelyn, and Vincent. Becoming a grandfather to Pagaen Mae Wittke brought him immeasurable happiness and pride.
Nathan is survived by his loving wife, Misty Jo; his children, Edward Wittke, Shaelyn Wittke (Onyx Fragomeno), and Vincent Wittke; his granddaughter, Pagaen Mae Wittke ; his mother, Debra Bowles; his sister, Candice Bowles; his brother, Christian Wittke; his aunt, Glenna Stens (Dick); and his cousin and best friend, Danny Mendenhall.
He will also be deeply missed by his in-laws, Ellis and Marie Slack; sisters-in-law, Angela Hendrickson, Rose Salazar (Elias), and Natasha Slack; brothers-in-law, Robert Slack and Jacob Slack; along with many nieces and nephews and cousins from both families who loved him dearly.
Nathan was preceded in death by his father, Victor Wittke; his grandparents, Perry and Bobbie Dalton; and his aunts, Lauren Dalton and Bobette Jarvis.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Vangie Medina, Charlene Martinez--Meyers, and Shaelyn Wittke for their unwavering support with fundraising, as well as to everyone who contributed to the GoFundMe and participated in the fundraisers. Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can express.
