Peter Lorin Jacobsen, age 68, passed away February 13, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Pete was born February 13, 1944 in Salt Lake City to Norman T. and Edna Smith Jacobsen. He graduated from Bingham High School, Class of 1962. He married Jolene Humpreys; they later divorced. He retired from Kennecott after 32 years of service as a machinist. He enjoyed a cold Coors and a round of golf with friends. Member of Granger Eagles and Tooele Elks Lodge. Per Pete’s request, no flowers, just take your family to dinner. Our sincere appreciation to the Care Source Staff for their excellent End of Life Care. Pete is survived by his son, Shawn Jacobsen, and daughter, Lori Ann Banyai; siblings, sister and brother-in-law, Ken and Sandra Harman of Taylorsville, Utah, and brother and sister-in-law, Rusty and Jill Jacobsen of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Kaley and Erik Banyai; nephews and nieces, Mark and Saundra Harman, Lance Harman, Mike and Tracy Jensen along with multiple grand-nieces and nephews; special cousins, Harold and Margaret Smith of Surprise, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, many aunts and uncles.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, February 17, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South.
