

Rae Ann Kirkman, beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, grandmother-in-law, great and great-great grandmother passed away peacefully early Monday morning on May 20, 2024, at the Rocky Mountain Care -Cottage on Vine Care Center in Murray, Utah.
Rae Ann was born to Wayne Justin and Madeline Wilson Loveless in Payson, Utah, July 6, 1933. She graduated from Payson High in 1951. Rae studied shorthand and received a “Certificate of Merit” for a paper she submitted in the National Shorthand Contest sponsored by the Estebrook Pen Company. She also received the “Shorthand Speed Certificate” for sixty words a minute transcribing notes neatly and accurately in 5 minutes.
She married her lifelong companion James Dean Kirkman February 24, 1955, in Payson, UT. Together they raised two sons and a daughter: James Wayne Kirkman, Dena Rae (Ronnie Wayne, Deceased May 11,2020) Brooks and Kevin Lynn (Jirapha) Kirkman.
Rae was an Avon lady while being head of the PTA at Carl Sandburg Elementary School her children attended. She loved making beautiful, dried flower arrangements which she did for both her son Wayne’s and her daughter Dena’s first weddings. She is a super BIG fan of the Utah Jazz NBA team and went to a game any chance she had. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, always having an annual Santa party which included having Santa.
Rae Ann worked for Wycoff for a bit, then went to work for JCPenney’s from September 1975 to July 1996 (21 years), after she retired from JCPenney’s, she decided to go to work at the Cracker Barrel for several years and earned many “Employee of the Month” plaques. Rae is long time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Hunter 2nd Ward. She wanted us to make sure everyone knew “she loves you all”. Rae received her Temple Recommend just prior to receiving her Temple Endowment Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the Draper Utah Temple. Rae Ann was sealed to James Dean Kirkman as husband and wife, according to God, for time and eternity in the Payson Utah Temple September 8, 2017.
Rae Ann Kirkman leaves behind her sons’: Wayne and Kevin (Jirapha) Kirkman, daughter; Dena Brooks; 8 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband James Dean Kirkman, September 2, 2016, her mother Madeline Wilson Loveless, October 2, 1980, her father Wayne Justin Loveless, February 16, 1975, and son-in-law, Dena’s husband Ronnie Wayne Brooks May 11, 2020, and many others.
A very special thanks goes out to the compassionate team of angels from Rocky Mountain Hospice and Rocky Mountain Care-Cottage on Vine Care Center for the care they gave while Rae was in their care.
Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 11 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Hunter 2nd Ward located at 3970 S 5200 W, West Valley City, UT 84120. A viewing will be held prior to the Celebration of Life from 10 AM to 11 AM. Lunch will be provided between 12 PM to 1 PM. Graveside dedication at 2 PM. PLEASE BE ON TIME!!
