Rick was born in Salt Lake City, the middle child of three to Phares R Snyder and Erma Colleen Peacock, on September 14, 1948.

Rick graduated from Granite High School in 1966 and completed some college courses.

Rick initially was a land surveyor for Salt Lake City Corporation, then with Bush and Gudgell. With the constant travel, Rick decided to leave the industry and began working for Larry Harmon at a service station in West Valley City, then operating a tow truck for Larry until the business was sold. Rick then went to work for West Valley City Corporation in the Public Works Department, where he worked until he retired in January of 2013.

Rick was a good cook, and his salsa was always requested at every family function. Rick enjoyed going camping, fishing, and golfing. Rick was always found either watching football, basketball, or golf, where of course Tiger Woods was his favorite player.

Rick requested that he be cremated and there be no services. A small celebration of life will be held on a later date for family and close friends. Notifications will be sent out later with the date, time, and location.
