Robert Fayle Huddleston, loved and adored by us all passed away on January 30, 2020. Bob was born on May 15, 1930 in Provo, Utah to Edward Fayle and Emma Jane (Edwards) Huddleston. He spent the first year of his life living in a Union Pacific Railroad boxcar outfitted for family living, as his father was employed by the railroad. He moved with his family at the age of one to Provo, Utah so his older sister Virginia could attend school. When he was four, the family moved to Lynndyl, Utah. He spent his summers swimming in the Sevier River and the irrigation canals, riding bicycles, hunting, fishing, and playing in the railroad yards. Bob was baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Sevier River at 11 years old. At the age of 12 Bob had his first job icing pop and ice cream for a news stand at the Union Pacific Depot. When he was 14 years old, he started calling train crews for the Union Pacific Railroad. After graduating from Delta High School in 1948, he worked in the water service department for the railroad. He then joined the Air Force and did 13 weeks of basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas. He was sent to Fort Warren Air Force Base at Cheyenne Wyoming for five months to attend Powerman School. He then shipped off to the Island of Guam Marianna Inland.
He married Coral Jean Kelley May 23, 1955 in Las Vegas Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the L.D.S. Salt Lake City Temple. Together they had two children, Robbie and Julee.
Bob was a man of many skills. He was a welder, pipe fitter, builder, electrician. He used his talents to serve many family members and friends. Throughout his life he enjoyed fishing, boating, waterskiing, camping and hunting.
Bob worked for 30 years at Hercules Inc. He retired in 1989. He and Coral escaped the harsh Utah winters in the warmth of the Arizona dessert. Together. Bob and Coral served an LDS Church Mission. They enjoyed many years of friendship and service in the church with the members of the Jordan North Fourth ward. Coral passed away in 2005. In May of 2006, Bob married Patsy Jean Cox. Patsy has been an absolute angel as she has endured the last three years of Bob’s life with him. She has been by his side every inch of the way. Sometimes life happened an inch at a time, she patiently and kindly walked with him.
Bob was a Hero to his grandchildren who loved and admired him very much. Their sweet hearts were broken as the man they adored began to forget their names and all the wonderful memories they had made together. Bob forgot many things, but he never forgot his sense of humor, or to be polite to those who served him. He never forgot how to whistle or dance. He never forgot to tear up when he hugged you good-bye.
Bob’s family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Blacksmith Fork Assisted living for being true friends to Bob and Patsy, for keeping them safe, seeing to their every need, and giving comfort when we, his family, were unable to do so. We will forever be grateful for your service and love. Your work is a respected and appreciated profession.
Bob is survived by his dear wife Patsy Huddleston, his son Rob Huddleston, Debbie, & his daughter Julee Webb, Lyle, 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Coral, his parents, and his sister, Virginia.
