He was born in Zanesville Ohio on October 9, 1947, to Raymond and Editha Goodrich. When he was a young boy, his family moved to Utah where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived his life in accordance with the gospel. He married Marilyn Joy Holgate in the Salt Lake Temple on September 18,1969 for all time and eternity. He gained a strong testimony of the church and loved to share it with others and was able to serve two inner city missions with his wife Marilyn.
He worked extremely hard to provide for his family and often worked 7 days a week doing multiple jobs to do so. When he was not working, he loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, scenic drives, and volunteering at Lee Kay. His favorite hobby was trap shooting with his friends and the loving Lee Kay Community. He was also a volunteer at Lee Kay for many years in which he completed three thousand volunteer hours.
He is survived by his brother, Mike (Gail) Goodrich; and his in-laws, Dennis (Astrid) Manning, Clair Simmons, Ranae (Scott) Thornton, and Ralph Holgate; along with his 5 children: Greg Goodrich, Chad (Kari) Goodrich, Tammy (Mike) Williams, Stacy Erickson, and Steven (Jessica) Goodrich; as well as 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
We’d like to recognize and thank the many doctors that cared for him including his oncology team at Utah Cancer Specialists, Granger Medical Clinic, Hospice for Utah, home health, as well as all the nurses and patient care techs that cared for him during his numerous hospital stays.
