July 9th 1935 - January 28th 2022.
Our beloved husband, companion, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend returned home January 28, 2022.
Ron was born on July 9th 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Reno Benjamin Orullianand Stella Beveridge Orullian.
He met the first love of his life, Virginia Catten working at Sweets Candy Company. They became one on September 15, 1956. They raised three children together.
Ron worked for Kennecott as a Millwright for 30 years. He was a hard worker and committed to double shifts to provide for his family. He retired and began working for Hendersons delivering parts for 10 years. He expressed his love for auto body by painting cars with grandpa Reno “Jack”.
Ron and Virginia built a life with their three children Melody (Joe) Bustillos, Shelly (Steve) Norr, Bryan (Trisha) Orullian, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grand-daughter.
Dad didn’t care too much for organized religion but was spiritual in his own right. He believed in family traditions and spending time together. When he retired from Hendersons, it was to care for his Virginia “Bogie”. He knew that no one else could take care of her the way that he could. He was a valiant and vigilant care giver when our mom fell ill. He was diligent and tender with her needs for 7 years until she left us. Although it was difficult, he cared for her until the very end.
Dad was a humble man. He appreciated his one-on-one conversations and didn’t care much for large crowds. He put others first and was generous with what he could contribute. He enjoyed yard work. He loved his garden and was passionate about his vegetables including the weeds he deemed edible. He loved to exercise and was active for most of his life, his motto was “the day you stop moving, is the day you start dying.”
After mom had passed, Dad was lucky to have found the second love of his life, Sally Christensen. She came at a time when they both needed each other even though they weren’t looking. For the last 20 years they created a beautiful life together enjoying family, bowling with friends, traveling, attending concerts, etc. They were inseparable.
As for family traditions, Dad was proud of his Armenian heritage. He loved to cook and experiment with traditional recipes. He shared with us the teachings of the culture. We made it a point to gather frequently to make our favorites: meat pies, burek, sarma, shish kabab, khashlama“stew”, and baklava.
Dad, you were our pillar of strength and perseverance! We Love You To The Moon!
Preceded in death by parents, brother-Charles and sister- Nola.
