Rumelia Mary Gallegos

Rumelia Mary Gallegos passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2011. She was born May 13, 1927 in Cuba, New Mexico to Fidelia and Ignacio Arellano. She married Pete P. Gallegos on September 19, 1948, whom she loved very much. One of Rumelia’s joys in life was going to Wendover with her husband Pete. Rumelia loved spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She had a witty sense of humor and enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows, such as Bonanza and Golden Girls. Our mom and grandma will be greatly missed and was loved by her whole family.

Rumelia is survived by her twelve children; Joe, Mike, Dezi, Lucy, Elaine, Felix, Peter, Dorothy, Janie, David, Barbara, and Randy along with fifty grandchildren, eighty four great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Pete, four children; Geri, Rudy, Mary and Albert, three grandchildren and six sisters.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday October 28, 2011 at 12 Noon at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 3580 West 3650 South (Lancer Way) West Valley City. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6-7 P.M. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 S. with Holy Rosary to follow at 7:00 P.M. Interment: Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
