1957 ~ 2013
On March 23, 2013, our beloved Angel Suzanne returned to her Heavenly Father after a long and courageous battle with Type 1 Diabetes, at her home in West Valley City.
Suzanne was born September 6, 1957 in Fillmore, Utah to James Albert and Inez George Beeston. She attended Fillmore Elementary, Millard Junior High and High School graduating in 1976 as class Salutarian. She fought Type 1 Diabetes from the age of eight years old to the present. This affected her life dramatically and put her on a course of life which included many ups and downs. She loved cooking, being in 4-H, sewing and playing the piano. After graduation from High School she attended B.Y.U. and enjoyed her time there very much. She later attended a Medical Assisting School and worked in that career for a few years before being called to the Podava, Italy Mission. She loved her mission and the Italian people, food and culture. This would be a big part of her life from then on. She remembered Italian and spoke it whenever she could. She had problems with her Diabetes in Italy and had to come home. After a few months she continued her mission in New Mexico and completed an honorable mission.
After her mission her life took another huge turn due to Diabetes when she developed diabetic retinopathy and began to go blind. She lived with her sister, Merlene in Salt Lake and then attended the Utah State School for the Blind. She learned how to cope with blindness and live in a sighted world. She met Wade Swensen at the blind center and they were married in 1983 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had many happy times together and then in 2003 he died of brain cancer.
She later married John Keser. They had a happy life together and took many trips even though both of them were blind from Diabetes and had Kidney Transplants. John died in October of 2009 and left Suzanne devastated and lonely again. She tried to make the best of it and be happy. She was one of the most uplifting, caring and positive people even in great adversity. She was happy and positive dealing with her ailments, even laughing at some of them. She was admired and awed by many people for dealing with life amidst great physical adversities. She developed a strong love of her Savior and knew she needed to endure to the end no matter how long or how hard.
Her faith in the Savior of a better life hereafter and being with her loved ones forever, made her problems bearable. She will be missed dearly by her father, James Albert Beeston; sisters, Mignon Johnson, Salina, RoLayne Moat (Daivd), Duchesne, Merlene Olsen (Rick) South Jordan, Connie Kunz (Dean) Fillmore, and George Beeston (Cheryl) Fillmore. She will be missed dearly by all her many friends, ward members, ect. A special thanks to her dear friends, Dina Monicur, Simon’e Hennig and Sue Thompson, and her niece, Nicole Kunz who because of their love and caring made her last years after Johns’ passing happy and fulfilling.
She is having a wonderful reunion with her dear mother who passed away on March 3, 2012 and her loving husbands, John and Wade. She was also looking forward to seeing her nephews who had died namely, Russell Bemis, Greg Bemis and Lynx Moat.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the L.D.S. Ward Chapel on 3120 Winchester Drive, West Valley City, Utah. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
