February 7, 1952 – July 5, 2023
Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandpa, and great grandpa Tony Carpentier, 71, of Richfield, Utah passed away suddenly on July 5, 2023.
Tony was born February 7, 1952, to Nathan Junior and Beverly Carpentier in Richfield Utah. He grew up in Bingham Canyon City Utah with his 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Later moved to Sandy Utah where he attended Jordan High School and spent most of his career in Transportation. Later retired and moved from West Jordan, Utah to Elsinore, Utah with his wife of 41 years Verna Carpentier.
Tony enjoyed the beach, camping and listening to the Beach Boys. He liked anything Mickey Mouse and collected items with the M&M characters, especially the dispensers. Tony’s favorite treat was peanut butter cookies, he was always on the hunt for the best one and towards the end of his life also enjoyed having a good bowl of ice cream. When he lived in West Jordan, the family would get together on Sundays and have a barbeque where his grandkids would ask to have a soda and he would always say to them “it will cost you a dollar”. He could have probably retired earlier if he ever actually collected from them. He was quite the prankster and whenever kids saw a bug, he would grab it and put it in his mouth just to watch them all freak out. He was known for his holiday yard decorations. You could not miss his house on Halloween or Christmas as it was the brightest on the street, which he eventually passed on to his daughter Danielle who has kept it alive. Tony always had an immaculate lawn, best in the neighborhood, was even green in the winter. He was so proud of his lawn that kids could only play on it in the backyard and not the front. Tony loved his family and when it was needed, he stepped up to help raise 2 of his grandkids. He really enjoyed when he became a grandpa and great grandpa, the kids were always excited to see their Grandpa Tier.
Tony is survived by his loving wife Verna; daughters: Nicole (Chris) Cole, Danielle Carpentier (Brad); sons: Cody Carpentier, Hayden (Sherie) Caffey, Chris (Jaime) Caffey. Brothers: Tim (Eileen) Carpentier, Terry (Kayla) Carpentier; sisters: Barbara Johnson (Tony) and Suzie Duffin. Along with 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Beverly Carpentier; sister Shauna Carpentier, daughter Angela Gee and son Jarod Caffey where he will be laid to rest alongside him.
