Ann was born October 31, 1927 to Maxine Lewis and Truman Jenkins in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was a fiercely independent woman for her entire life, right up to the day of her passing. At the young age of seventeen, Ann left her small home town of Eldon, Missouri and moved to New York City. It was there that she met her husband, Norman Wright. Norman and Ann were married in 1953 in Los Angeles, California and they had three children together.
Ann and Norman divorced in 1972, and Ann raised her three children as a single mother at a time when doing so was practically unheard of. She also worked full time for twenty-five years at Odetics in Anaheim, California.
Among Ann’s favorite things were shopping – from grocery shopping to window shopping and everything in between – and puzzles. She could often be found doing a puzzle at her dining room table late into the evenings. She also loved sweets of all kinds. She had a wicked sense of humor and kept all of her loved ones on their toes.
Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Lewis Kerr, Father, Truman Jenkins, and her brothers, Donald Jenkins and James Jenkins. She leaves behind her three children: Suzette Cavalari (Darwin) of Sacramento, Michael Wright of Garden Grove, and David Wright (Vicki) of Trabuco Canyon; and, five grandchildren: Michelle, Sarah, Brian, Angela, and Ashley. She was very proud of her family and will be missed.
