August 22, 1940 – June 17, 2025
Barbara Rogers of El Cajon, California, died on the morning of June 17, 2025. She was born on August 22, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to Albert and Agnes Sipin and was the oldest of five children.
Bobbie forged her own path early in life, leaving the Midwest in the 1960s to make California home. There, she built a life on grit and independence but also founded in family. She was a devoted mother, a tireless worker, and a woman who somehow made “doing it all” seem possible—balancing motherhood, work, family gatherings, holiday feasts, and everything in between.
Bobbie was a woman of conviction, intelligence, and heart. She carried her pride quietly, never boastful. Endlessly supportive, deeply loving, and unshakable in her humility, she forgave beyond measure. Family visits brought her joy, and holiday gatherings gave her a deep sense of comfort.
Bobbie juggled life’s challenges with fierceness and unapologetic strength. Her love language was action - from sending care packages to preparing every meal with unmatched effort and warmth. Her home was a refuge of inviting aromas of freshly made chicken adobo, egg rolls crisping in the pan, and Christmas cookies waiting to be decorated. Food was always in the fridge, love always in abundance. She offered her own stories of family and experiences, and enjoyed family games, especially with money on the line.
Bobbie was a voracious reader, delighted in bingo and casino trips, and adored music from Neil Diamond, Cat Stevens, ABBA, and Queen. Her garden bloomed with fruit trees and roses that she enjoyed taking care of. She loved to share with others the fruits of her labor and her joys in life as well.
Bobbie led an accomplished and multifaceted life. She played weekly card games with friends and neighbors, served in the Naval Reserves, and held distinguished leadership positions - including President of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 295, and at retirement was President of her Union. In her younger years, she even got to ride (and subsequently fall off) a hippo at a Legion event! Although she aspired to travel the world, she consistently prioritized the needs and well-being of her family and friends.
She met her spouse Darrel Frazeur at a bowling league, finding her love that lasted 45 years. After his recent death her heart simply followed his as her grief had been too much.
Barbara is survived by her children: Marc Rogers, Becca Woodward (Bryan), Anthony Rogers, and Donald Rogers (Monika); her siblings Madeline (Carol) Deeg, Ralph Sipin (Rosie), Robert Sipin (Rae), Kathleen Lang (Bob); her grandchildren Christina Cain (Josh), Abigail Rogers, and Anthony M. Rogers, Jr.; and her great-grandchildren Jared and Emma.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Rogers, and beloved spouse Darrel Frazeur.
Special recognition to Susie Frazeur and the Frazeur Family for all the love, kindness, and support freely given to Bobbie and the Rogers family. Your support over the past few months has been overwhelmingly appreciated. We would not be who we are without our lives intertwined.
She will be laid to rest on July 15, 2025, at Westminster Memorial Cemetery following a Requiem Mass at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Cypress, CA.
Barbara gave much of herself to the people she loved. That presence and legacy will be felt for generations.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's memory may be made to Holy Trinity Church (405 Ballard Street, El Cajon, CA 92019).
Mom, now you’ll finally know what the fly said to the elephant.
