Charles aka Chaz and Chuck McDonald - His Life’s Journey: Charles Fredrick McDonald Jr. came into this life on November 14, 1944. He was half Armenian and half Irish. He was born and lived in Dearborn, Michigan until high school and then with his family, came to California.
Chuck went by Chaz in high school. He graduated in 1963 and enlisted into the Marines during the Vietnam War. Unfortunately, he injured his knee and received an Honorable Medical Discharge. Chaz wanted to serve his country and went back to his commander to request a return to service. He was denied. It was God giving him a new journey in life.
Chaz was the president of his Armenian youth church group. He was very involved with the church that the High Priest wanted him to study and become a priest. Chaz wanted to have a family and decline the invitation.
Chaz and his first wife Mikeline, (may she rest in peace) married 1967 and had two children; Mark and Kristi.
Chaz had the love of produce and owned two businesses; Chaz’s Wholesale Produce and South Bay Produce. In between the two businesses, he worked in the sheet metal industry and as a lab courier. He was very social and great in sales. He standard statement when asked; How are you, he would say “TOP SHAPE”.
In July, 1984, Chaz began a new life with Taryn Margaretich. He was a fun, loving and a hard-working man and treated Taryn like a queen. He loved his family and all the cats and dogs in his family. He loved to go to Laughlin, play cards and drink Crown Royal rocks with a Coke back. He loved Mo Town music; Four Tops, Temptations, and Righteous Brothers.
Chaz is survived by his wife Taryn, his sister Sandra, and his children; Mark McDonald & Kristi Verdugo and four grandchildren.
We lived, loved and laughed together.
Chaz services will be June 14, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Westminster Memorial Park Chapel. His ashes will be interned at the Riverside National Cemetery.
